Program Descriptions:
Child & Adolescent Services
Children’s System of Care
Provides intensive in-home mental health services and case management to children and adolescents referred by the Department of Mental Health, Juvenile Probation and the Department of Children & Family Services.
Central & North Valley Youth & Family Center
Outpatient clinic offers mental health counseling, case management, medication support and crisis intervention for children and youth from ages two to 18.
Erikson Center
Residential mental health treatment for teens, ages 13 - 17. The program also offers non-public school and mental health services including day treatment.
Juvenile Justice Outpatient Services
Provides mental health services to juvenile probationers and youth at risk for gang involvement.
Multisystemic Therapy
Provides intensive services to the families of probation youths. The program focuses on treating children in the settings in which they must learn to live.
Nidorf Juvenile Hall Program
Works with non-violent youth to address issues that put them at risk of repeated placements in the detention centers.
Therapeutic Behavioral Services
TBS is a rehabilitation service provided to qualifying children, adolescent and youth who are receiving other mental health services within the Center or in another setting. Clients must be at risk of higher levels of institutionalized care. TBS includes mentoring, shadowing, immediate positive reinforcements, cognitive behavioral intervention, time structuring activities, inappropriate response prevention, and support for the caretaker's efforts.
Turning Point - A Wraparound Service
Supports high risk children and youth, and their families. Its primary goal is to transition children out of institutionalized care and do whatever it takes to maintain them in a stable home environment. Children are referred by the Department of Child and Family Services, Juvenile Probation and the Department of Mental Health.
Youth Contact
In collaboration with schools and the Central Valley Youth and Family Center, provides a full range of therapeutic services including individual, group and family counseling on school campuses, and case management according to the needs of the child.
Adult Services
Transitional Youth
Transitional Youth Outpatient and Intensive Day Treatment
Outpatient and day treatment services to assist clients, age 17 to 21, in the transition from adolescent to adult services. Assistance is provided in obtaining adult benefits, housing, and vocational and educational referrals.
Transitions
Offers a continuum of care model to serve young adults, ages 18 - 21. The model incorporates a variety of structured, therapeutic, residential living environments geared to address the developmental issues confronting this group of young adults. Services include wraparound mental health, substance abuse, vocational, case management/brokerage and medication support services.
Adult Outpatient Services
Center for Family Living / Manos de Esperanza
Outpatient clinic offers mental health counseling, case management, medication support and crisis intervention to adults with chronic and persistent mental illness, clients who are dually diagnosed and victims of domestic abuse.
Macdonald Carey East Valley Center
Outpatient clinic offers mental health counseling, case management, medication support and crisis intervention for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, clients who are dually diagnosed, and/or victims of domestic violence.
Dual Diagnosis Services
Provides an integrated array of assessment and treatment services for dually diagnosed individuals, and is integrated within all of the Center’s adult services.
CalWORKs Supportive Services
Assisting CalWORKs participants with overcoming mental health barriers which impede their ability to work and lead productive lives.
Domestic Violence
Case management and counseling program for victims of domestic violence. Counselors also provide assistance to hospitals, police stations and battered women's shelters. Services include referrals to shelters, mental health services and vocational rehabilitation services.
Community Assessment Service Center
In partnership with the Tarzana Treatment Center, CASC provides assessment and referral for GR and CalWORKs recipients who have a mental health, substance abuse or domestic violence barrier to employment.
Family Links
Comprehensive program specifically designed to provide mental health and case management services to severely and persistently mentally ill adults and their severely emotionally disturbed children.
Community Support Services
Assertive Community Treatment
Provides comprehensive full service mental health services to a select group of high utilizer clients. Works with family members, friends and care-givers to develop client’s support system, decrease hospitalization and achieve stability.
Adult Day Rehabilitation
Using a psycho-social rehabilitative model, clients participate in a 5-day a week, structured skill-building program to enhance and maximize their abilities for community living.
Life Works (Adult Day Treatment Intensive)
An intensive short-term crisis resolution structured day treatment program to assist clients in maintaining independent functioning in the community.
Victory Clubhouse
Open to all mental health clients. Offers a safe place to relax, socialize, learn new skills, and to give and receive support from their peers.
Harbour
A transitional residential treatment program for adults who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Assistance is provided to obtain benefits and long-term housing, medication monitoring, assistance in development of socialization, coping and daily living skills.
Independent Living
Services include group and individual therapy and case management services for symptom management, medication monitoring, life skills training, housing referrals and assistance with satellite and Section 8 housing placement.
Valley Employment Services
Vocational specialists work with adult and transitional youth clients to enhance work skills, provide employment preparation and job placement.
Homeless Services
Foundations (AB2034 - Integrated Homeless Services)
Fully integrated community care system for the homeless, severely mentally ill who have recently been released (or awaiting release) from a criminal justice facility. Services include medication monitoring, crisis intervention, mental health and case management services and vocational support.
Cornerstone
Daytime drop-in center for homeless, mentally ill adults. The program provides mental health case management and assistance in daily living skills, light meals, clothing, laundry, shower facilities, lockers and mail service, vocational and educational support services.
Sidekicks
In collaboration with the Tarzana Treatment Center, provides integrated, consumer-sensitive services for dually diagnosed individuals in need of intensive services.
Senior Services
Homebound
Serves mentally ill seniors and physically ill or disabled adults at the program site, or in special cases, at home. Anxiety disorder counseling is offered for adults of all ages at the program site. In special cases counseling maybe offered in the client’s home.
